About the case
This case involved a 28-year-old patient presenting with moderate crowding across both arches, a narrow upper arch, and a mild class II bite with an increased overjet.
Following a full clinical assessment and intraoral scan, a ClinCheck 3D simulation was produced and reviewed with the patient at the second appointment. The simulation showed the planned tooth movements across all 46 stages and the predicted final position. The patient was satisfied with the proposed outcome and elected to proceed with Invisalign Comprehensive.
- ClinCheck simulation approved by patient before any clinical work began
- Invisalign Comprehensive selected for full arch treatment with bite correction
- Attachments placed on 11 teeth to assist rotation and torque movements
Treatment progress
Aligner changes were set at 7-day intervals throughout the active treatment phase, with progress appointments every 8 weeks. The patient maintained excellent compliance throughout, averaging over 21 hours of daily wear.
- 7-day aligner change intervals used throughout active treatment
- Three stages of interproximal reduction performed during treatment
- One mid-course refinement required to correct a tracking issue on the upper left lateral
Retention
On completion of active treatment, fixed retainers were bonded to the upper and lower anterior teeth and custom removable retainers provided for night use. Stable results confirmed at all follow-up reviews.
"I was nervous about wearing aligners at work but nobody ever noticed. Thirteen months later I have the smile I always wanted."
